This article will explain how to zero out/exhaust a gift cards available balance.
1. To start, begin by logging into the Teesnap Admin portal, For reporting purposes, you will need to create an inventory sub-category called "Zero out gift card" allowing you to identify where these gift card sales/zero outs will appear in your reports. To add an inventory sub-category, follow the steps in this article.
2. After adding an inventory sub-category, click Inventory on the left-hand side of the page.
2. Click Products from the inventory list.
3. Click Add at the top of the page.
4. Create a "Zero Out Gift Card" product at a $0 retail price and add your newly created "Zero Out Gift Card" inventory category. You can also include a small description in the text box at the bottom of the window.
5. Click Configuration at the top of the window and be sure to add this product to a display category, in our case we used the display category "Other". Click Save in the top right corner before proceeding.
6. After completing the steps above, return to your Teesnap Application via the iPad and then navigate to the cart in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Tap on the "other" tab on the left-hand side of the page to find the "Zero Out Gift Card" product.
7. After adding the product to the cart, tap on the product name to override the price. IMPORTANT: At this point, you should input the BALANCE of the gift card you're looking to "Zero Out".
8. Tap the Override button in the top right corner (this permission can be turned on/off in the admin portal).
9. Input your user ID and press go, if you get an error message here it may be due to insufficient permissions.
10. Input the new price (gift card balance you wish to remove/zero out) then input a reason, in our case, we used "Zero out gift card". Click Save to continue.
11. Upon returning to the shopping cart, you will see the new price of the Zero Out Gift Card product is $5. (in this case, the gift card we're zeroing out has a $5 balance remaining). Click Checkout to continue.
12. In this case you can select Checkout as Guest or input yourself so you have a record for any reporting/golfer questions that come up.
13. Tap on the Other tender type at the bottom of the page, then tap on gift card/rain check.
14. Input the account number/gift card, after entering the information you will see your gift card code appear along with the current balance remaining on the card. To complete the transaction click Submit.
15. Upon completing the transaction you have the ability to print and or email a receipt, if you wish to do neither, click the X icon in the top right corner of the page.
