In this article, we will review what an Open Bill is and how to close an Open Bill when you have one.
How an Open Bill is Created:
If the app crashes, is forced closed, or the iPad loses power during the payment or tipping process, the current bill will be saved as an Open Bill.
Key Points on Open Bills:
- Open Bills are accessible exclusively to the Employee ID that was responsible for the transaction when the open bill was created.
- All Open Bills that have been fully paid but remain open will automatically close at the end of the day if the employee has not manually completed the process.
- All Open Bills with partial payments will be reversed automatically at the end of the day if the employee does not close out the remaining balance with a second payment type.
Where to Find Open Bills:
1. In the cart, an icon displays the number of open bills associated with your Employee ID. Tapping this icon allows you to quickly access and view your open bills.
2. You can also locate your Open Bills by navigating to the Purchases section to view the Open Bills linked to your Employee ID.
How to Close an Open Bill with a Completely Paid Balance:
1. Locate your open bill within the Purchases section and click on it to open the transaction.
2. In this Open Bill, the payment has been successfully processed to A/R. However, due to the app being forced closed, the app crashing, or the iPad losing power, the tip could not be added at that time. You can now select your preferred tip process and complete the transaction.
How to Close an Open Bill with a Partial Payment:
1. Locate your open bill within the Purchases section and click on it to open the transaction.
2. In this Open Bill, a partial payment has already been processed to the A/R account, resulting in an outstanding balance of $4.90. To finalize the transaction, please choose a new payment method to settle the remaining amount.
