Tipping

Tips By Logged in User

This report will show you tips based on who was logged in at the time of the sale.

This report provides an overview of the tips received and organized by the user who was logged in at the time of the transaction, rather than by the Employee ID entered during the tipping process.  When transactions are processed on a tab and multiple users add products to the same tab, the tip amount is calculated according to the value of the products each user entered.

You can find this report within the Tips and Tabs Report, specifically under the section labeled Tips by Logged-in User.

Shopping Cart Transaction

1.   For a shopping cart transaction, this report will show the tip values based on who was logged in during the original sale. For instance, if Employee A was logged in during a sale and Employee B enters their 4-digit ID to receive the tip during the tipping process, this report will display the tip value under Employee A, since they were the logged-in user, but the Tip will be recorded to Employee B for a Tip Out or Tips Summary.

Tab

2. For a Tab, this report will break down tips by whoever was logged in and added a product to the Tab. If 2 different employee IDs were used to add products to a tab, then this report will calculate the tip based on the product values each employee ID entered into the tab.

Example: Employee A enters a $20 product, and Employee B enters a $10 product into the same tab. If the customer tips $6, then Employee A would show $4, and Employee B would show $2 on this report only.

The examples shown here are unique to this report and do not impact the Tip Out value or appear in the Tips Summary Report.
