This article will explain how to connect a Citizen ticket printer using a Wifi connection.
To connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network, you must initially connect it to the internet using an Ethernet cable.
1. Turn on the Citizen Wifi Printer; press and hold the Power and Feed button until you hear a beep.
2. After a 10-second pause, press the black button located at the bottom right corner of the back of the printer.
3. After you hear a second beep simply press and release the button at the back of the printer and a ticket will print with an IP address with (DCHP) at the end of the IP Address.
4. On your desktop or laptop computer that is connected to the same network, open a new internet browser window. Type the IP address into the address bar and press Enter. This action will take you to the configuration page displayed in the image below:
5. Select the CONFIG option displayed on the screen. You will be prompted to log into the LAN board. Enter "admin" as both the username and password in the respective fields, then click the Login button.
6. Under the Request Print tab enter the following URL -
https://admin.teesnap.com/teesnap-rest-service/print-jobs-citizen
In the field labeled 'Interval,' set the value to 5 seconds.
7. At this time you will need to log into the admin portal and configure a Printer to then be able to enter the User and Password from Teesnap. To do so, click Inventory > Printers, then Add on the top right.
8. Provide a name for the printer and input the MAC address found on the printed receipt or listed under the ID in the Citizen portal. Once entered, click the "Save" button. Next, click the Pencil Icon or "Edit" button to view the system-generated username and password.
9. Enter the username and password that were generated in the admin portal, as indicated earlier. Once you have filled in this information, click the "Submit" button to proceed.
10. Once you have clicked the Submit button, navigate to the Maintenance tab and select Save & Reboot.
11. Select YES to Save & Reboot LAN board.
12. Navigate to the Wireless LAN tab and click on the START button to begin scanning for available Wi-Fi networks.
13. Choose the Wi-Fi network you wish to connect the printer to, then click on the SET button to confirm your selection.
14. In the field labeled "Pre-Shared Key," input your Wi-Fi password. Click SUBMIT when finished.
15. Navigate to the Maintenance tab and click the Save & Reboot option to apply your changes and restart the system.
16. Select YES to Save & Reboot LAN board.
17. In the Wireless LAN Status tab, you will be able to verify that the printer is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network.
18. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the printer and perform a test print to ensure the wireless connection is functioning properly.
