How to Process a Credit Card Refund to a Gift Card or Credit Book

Teesnap now provides the capability to refund transactions that were originally tendered to a credit card to other forms of payment such as a Gift Card or Credit Book.

 

To do this, go to the PURCHASES area to locate the transaction you wish to refund.

 

Next, select the specific transaction containing the product or products that you wish to refund

 

From the TRANSACTION DETAILS window, select ISSUE REFUND.

 

Next, select the individual products on the transaction that you wish to refund.

 

You can now choose the method of payment to refund from the drop-down. Note that in addition to the original credit card that was used, Gift Card and Club Credit are also available to be selected. Club Credit will only be available if an actual customer had been added to the original transaction (as opposed to the transaction having been checked out using "Guest").

ISSUING REFUND TO CLUB CREDIT

To issue the refund to Club Credit, select Club Credit from the drop-down and touch PROCESS REFUND

 

Enter a user ID with sufficient permissions to process refunds

 

The transaction now shows the product as having been refunded to Club Credit

 

To confirm, you can also go to the customer record, select the Club Credit tab, and confirm the balance has been added to Club Credit.

 

ISSUE THE REFUND TO GIFT CARD

To issue the refund to Gift Card, select the individual products to be refunded, select Gift Card from the drop-down, enter an EMAIL ADDRESS to mail the gift card to, and touch PROCESS REFUND

 

Enter a user ID with permissions to process refunds

 

Note now that the transaction has been refunded to a gift card. You can also print the gift card receipt to the receipt printer or re-email it if necessary.
