How to Refund in a Transaction in Heartland Portico Virtual Terminal

This article will instruct you how to log in to Heartland Virtual Terminal and refund a transaction.

1. Log into Heartland Portico Virtual Terminal -- linked here

 

2. On the left-hand sidebar, select Reports

 

3. Within Reports, select Find Transactions.

 

4. Once you arrive at the search menu, you can configure your search parameters with the last four digits of the Credit Card, amount, date and/or time, among other filters. 

** Recommended: Have the date of the sale and last 4 digits of the card number (ex. ****1234).

 

5. Once you have found your duplicate transaction, click on the blue underlined transaction. Once inside the transaction in question, you can Refund (or Return) by using the dollar sign ($) with an arrow located in the bottom left-hand corner of the page.
