Should I Update Plugins on My Site?
You can if you want to, but please keep in mind the following:
1. Teesnap already updates your plugins at least once a week. We monitor your site's software daily, and for major updates such as security patches, we update the same day. For less important or minor updates, we will update once a week. The vast majority of plugin updates are very minor and do not need to be updated immediately. Also...
2. Not all updates are created equal. Before we update any software on your site, we take a look at that plugin's support forum to see if there have been any major issues reported to its developers. If so, we may hold off a few days on the update until we've determined that the issues have been fixed and it's safe to do so. If you want to update plugins on your site, we advise
3. You update your site's plugins at your own risk. Things happen, and it is possible that when you initiate a plugin update, the software update will be incomplete or otherwise corrupted. If so, this may temporarily break your site. Our team can likely fix it for you, but we work regular EST business hours Monday through Friday, so at the very least, try to perform the updates during that time period in the rare case anything goes wrong.
